One of the great things about living in Raleigh is the incredible amount of interesting, and even groundbreaking, events taking place on a regular basis. The Video Games Live concert is a testament to the unique opportunities that the city has to offer. The brainchild of multiple-award-winning composer Tommy Tallarico, Video Games Live blends symphonic arrangements of the most popular video games with synchronized video footage, electronic percussion, and an impressive light display. Described by the Washington Post as “ingenious and fantastic,” this is a show suited for video game fanatics, music-lovers, and those who simply loved to be entertained.
For the gamers out there, featured videogames include: Warcraft, Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Super Smash Bros., Zelda, Pokémon, Mario, Final Fantasy, Sonic, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and many others. There will also be arrangements of a Classic Arcade Medley and a Tetris Opera.
Hosted by its creator, Tommy Tallarico, Video Games Live is an exciting evening full of audience participation. Whether you have been selected to conquer a Guitar Hero level on-stage or are waving your phone to the beat of the Mario Bros. theme song, this is not your standard sit-down performance.
Many other activities have been planned around the performance itself including a costume contest, guitar hero competition, prize giveaways, and interactive game demos levitra 10mg tablets. There will also be a meet-and-greet with top videogame composers, designers, and other industry-related talent.
Come see Video Games Live with the North Carolina Symphony for yourself on Friday, June 7th, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. The show takes place at the Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh. It will be the only showing of Video Games Live, so get your tickets while you still can.
